Greetings Gang, It's another HOT day in paradise.. frown

Calls are actually up quite a bit. And we have made a bunch of modifications to the html screens and menu structure.

1: changed the way you initially enter the message menu. The message hyperlink on the bbs main menu now opens your selected conferences. A quick click of the Select Conferences tab takes you to that menu. Click all conferences and a list of available areas will appear. Check the ones you want to add to your selected list, then be sure to click Commit Changes at the bottom of that page. That also selects any conferences to scan for QWK Download.

2: managed to hack this wc-code and change the default html message read font and size. It's now a little bit bigger and easier to read. The font now used is Aerial set at size 13. I can also add a bold attribute to the message read font, but to me it seems somewhat excessive. Let me know your thoughts on that.

3: modified the message wrap attribute from hard to soft when submitting new messages via the web editor. That modification prevents paragraph breakage, allowing much cleaner message quoting.

4: as outlined below the enter new message menu: If you're having problems saving submitted messages. This is caused by newer web browsers that pre-load resources through their servers. To name a few, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, and some versions of Internet Exploder.

5: Telnet access has been changed to port 26. This is due to a brute force attempted penetration attack on port 23 that is now closed. See this blog post for more info.

Considering the software, Wildcat 5 (pre Winserver days) last update was done back in the year 2000, It's working quite well. Just have to jump through a hoop or two to get the best results out of it.

Regards, Doc.
